Milkwood is my proprietary name for a species of wood that I have found particularly suitable for shell construction. For many drummers who prefer wood snare drums it has become the wood of preference over Maple making the Milkwood snare drums my best selling MonoPly® model. The density and weight of Milkwood give the drum more tone, warmth and range over the nasaly "honk" common to some Maple solid shells. This example features a high gloos black finish with a nicely contrasting red interior stained with my proprietary wood stain formula.
