- Powder coating is an interesting option for stainless steel drums. This 13" Standard model was coated in a matte black. The coating does warm the tone of the drum slightly. The coating itself is very durable, although over time it can wear on the top hoop. Powder coating adds about $100 to the price of a 14" drum.
