- When a mistake becomes a thing of beauty. This was a titanium shell that required a outside diameter correction - something that is neary impossible to do. Instead of tossing the shell I decided to skin it with aluminum panels which were riveted onto the inner ti shell which took a long time needless to say. Polished Magnesium hoops were added along with a prototype R Class adjustable butt end. The overall aesthetics were inspired by the famous Howard Hughes H1 air racer, hence the black touches on the lugs and the painted logo. End result : a drum that sounds absolutely fantastic and has been making rounds through the local Vancouver studios ever since. This drum is part of my personal collection. It is not for sale and I have no plans to make another.
