- Affectionatley known as "The Chief" the L2006 was a project drum dedicated to William F. Ludwig II. The drum is adorned with a special minted badge that bears the image of the man who made Ludwig the most famous name on drums. It was first introduced as a prototype at Musik Messe in Frankfurt Germany in March 2006. The drum features the thinnest metal shell ever made.
