2009

Wow. What an crazy year. Crazy good as far as Dunnett Classic is concerned and I could not have done it without YOU. Not this year and not any of the previous years that I have been doing this. So many of you have provided support, encouragement, sent video clips, CD's, DVD's, pictures, recordings...for this I cannot thank you enough, but I will take this opportunity to thank you now. THANK-YOU! I am humbled as always by your grace and generosity.

It's been 3 months since my last update, so we better get started...

Net Work

I like drummers and I like drums. I've never been able to keep up with everyone as much as I'd like and I'm sure part of the reason you're reading this is because you like to keep up on what Dunnett Classic is up to.

You may be interested to know that Dunnett Classic is now on Facebook, YouTube & Twitter. There are some interesting, funny and informative video clips on YouTube/dunnettclassicdrums and I update each of these sites as much as possible, so please - "friend me" or subscribe on any or all of these networking
sites and let's keep in touch!

The 2010 Winter NO-show

For the first time in 10 years Dunnett Classic Drums will not be exhibiting at the Winter NAMM show in Anaheim. There are several reasons for this. Over the past few years the organizers of the show have not been willing or able to enforce the sound policies as stated in the exhibitor contract making it difficult (if not impossible) to conduct the business I am there to do. The NAMM show represents a significant investment in time, energy and capital and it is not unreasonable to expect that I can engage in conversation with my customers, artists, friends and associates without having to raise my voice to compete with the din created by those who are oblivious to their fellow exhibitors or the sound policy. That unfortunate situation coupled with the fact that my production scheduled and project roster is already filled for the better part of 2010 renders a NAMM booth redundant this year. Having said that, I will be attending the show in other capacities and Dunnett Classic and George Way WILL be represented. Dunnett products can be seen and (possibly) heard at the following NAMM exhibits:

Amedia Cymbals - Booth 2865

Dream Cymbals - Booth 3279

KMC / Gibraltar - 5720

James Trussart Guitars - 4885

The Great Dunnett Classic / George Way

GIVE•A•WAY

I want to express my sincere gratitude to all who entered the Great Dunnett Classic / George Way Give•AWay contest on YouTube. There was no lack of enthusiasm or creativity and I had my work cut out for me trying to pick 9 winners - in fact I could not pick 9 winners. I had to up that to 13 winners! Check out my YouTube page tosee some of the entries or just do a search on YouTube for Dunnett Classic!

What's New?

Dunnett Classic presents CSO : CONCERT SYMPHONIC ORCHESTRAL

NAMM 2010 will mark the introduction of one of the first of many models from Dunnett Concert Percussion.

A-tension : The Introduction of the R4.0

Over the past year I have had a number of products in development - a bass drum pedal, a bass drum riser system and several different snare throw offs including a soon to be released Concert / Symphonic / Orchestral throw off system (aptly named CSO). There is still a wait on most of those products due to time constraints, however the one item you won't have to wait much longer for is the new R4.0 throw off. The R4.0 is scheduled to be introduced at this years NAMM show. The R Class and R2 throw off are the best selling OEM and after market throw off in the world and has been the first choice of top shelf companies like Craviotto, Drum Workshop, Brady, Odery, Pork Pie, Tempus, Premier, Montinerri and many others. The R4.0 represents phase 1 of a system that is going to make snare drums that much better and that much more interesting!
