January 2005
So ... you were wondering why there was no more drum of the month. I had to put things on hold while I was preparing for NAMM and also working on giving the web site a majot overhaul. Special thanks to Ben Hulse for doing such a great job with it. Like anything in this business, true wisdom is knowing who can help you and when they should help you.
The changes will be on going and I'll be updating and adding more drums and more content every month ... and of course getting back to publishing the Drum of the Month ... speaking of which ...

This is the second last of the Beauty series. This is a 6514 Stainless shell in mirror finish with 12applique florettes applied around the shell. They add some weight and thus the sound of the drum is a little drier than the Standard Stainless model. I wasn;t certain how the florettes would look on a mirror shell - I tohught it might be a bit too high key, but it turned out, well, she's beauty! I have enough florettes to do one more Beauty so if it's something you are considering ...

2005 NAMM Show
Dunnett Classic will be representing at the 2005 Winter NAMM in Anaheim. I'll be bringing my usual bag of tricks and some very cool, unreleased products. If you make it to the show, please stop by and I'll be happy to show you around. I'm in booth 3364.
If you can't make it - no problem. You'll almost be there - I'll be putting together my yearly NAMM pictorial for drumsmith.com. It's the best pictorial you'll find on the internet. There will be a lot of exclsuive content including images of the Stantom Moore show at the Galaxy in Anaheim.

Andrew Borger - Revisited
In case you missed Andrew Borger with Norah Jones on their recent tour, take heart: An absolutely wonderful DVD of the show filmed live in Nashville is out on DVD. Andrew stirs up some really great drum sounds with his vintage Ludwigs and his twin MonoPly Cherry snare drums. Make sure you check it out.

Even more important now!
I am in the process of garnering data on owners of Dunnett Classic drums. This information will be used strictly for archival interests, however it will also be used to assess eligibility should you decide to take advantage of some component upgrades that will be offered during the coming months.
If you own a Classic and would like to have your drum included please drop me an email and be sure to included your name, your drum's serial name and the date I completed the drum (info that's likely on the inside of your drum). Once I have enough data I will post a registry page.
