Koln, Germany

The Drum Center in Koln independantly owned and operated by Olly Blahak.
A fantastic drum shop in the heart of the city.

Paul, Giovanni and myself found the young ladies of Koln both warm and beautiful - the two decided they wanted to be included in this group shot. Very nice!

Normally I walk into a drum shop and I see a certain number of kits and snare drums with finishes that I just look at and think "I hope they like that finish because it's going to be here for a while". Olly's shop was a rare exception - every kit was tuned, set up and sounding goodand ALL of the finishes on every kit in thes store was gorgeous. Refreshing.

The cymbal room - plenty of selection.

The best place in Koln to get head(s).

The Drum Center also features a basement in which all of the entry level kits are set-up, tuned and ready to go.
Again, not a bad choice of finish in the entire stock.

Olly (left) tells Paul Mason of the flood that once filled the entire shop.

Paul Mason (Tempus), Deiter Blahak, Dunnett and Olly Blahak.

The drummer and percussionist from the local production of
We Will Rock You set up for a short and very entertaining set inside the store.

Sold!

Mason and the author take some time out to take in the sites!

A typical Koln street scene
