If you have a question that is not answered here please send it to me via email.
Do you have a catalogue you can send me?
No. I produce small brochures on ocasion, but Dunnett.com in the best place for up-to-date information.
Is it OK to use a power drill to change heads on my Dunnett snare drum?
Uh...no.
Not on a Dunnett drum, not on any drum. However it is OK to use your drum key to make holes in things.
What if my drum requires repairs or warranty service?
If for any reason your drum needs to be personally inspected for repair or warranty you must contact me via phone or email and I will issue an RA# and provide you with instructions for safely returning your drum for inspection.
DRUMS SHIPPED WITHOUT AN RA# WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. ABSOLUTELY NO EXCEPTIONS!
Why make a Titanium drum?
Why not? The weight of a wood shell and the strength and density of metal gives a Ti drum some exceptionally unique tonal qualities unlike anything else.
How long does a custom order take to deliver?
Depending on what you want, most orders on STANDARD sizes are shipped within 4 weeks, often less than that. Delivery times are estimated only and no guaranteed delivery date is expressed or implied. Delivery times on special orders may vary between 2-10 weeks or more depending on specifications. Average delivery time is 6 weeks. I make drums as quickly as I make them well. Quality takes time and I won't be rushed.
What does shell "gauge" mean?
Shell gauge refers to the thickness of the metal the shell is made from. It is an important factor in determining sound quality. I believe a thinner shell produces a far more desirable tone. Have a look at a gauge/fraction/decimal chart. It might help illustrate scale.
Doesn't a heavier, thicker metal shell produce more power and projection?
No. This is a myth. A heavier metal shell produces bigger biceps and/or hernias.
