The Future is in History. Welcome to Dunnett V2 and to 2012 - the year of Magnesium. When I first started Dunnett Classic I began by experimenting with various metals for drums shells including Stainless Steel, Brass, Bronze, Copper and of course Titanium. But I also crafted a few prototypes using some very exotic metals - Magnesium being among them. At the time I poured my efforts into perfecting the Stainless Steel and Titanium drum shell and the Magnesium prototypes sat on a back shelf in my shop until recently, when I completed the two prototype shells and applied all of my knowledge of metal to the fabrication into the new M Class Magnesium snare drums - and a new way for drummers to "M-Power" their sound and performance. The only way to truly appreciate the unique quality of Magnesium is to hear it and attendees of the 2012 Winter NAMM show will have that opportunity.
