D to G

Dream Cymbals
Well, they are pretty dreamy sounding to a lot of drummers.
Steve Maxwell has them in his shop and word is they are a great sounding
affordable alternative.

Drum Workshop / Pacific

The overall easthetics of this kit allowed me to overlook the tribal theme.
I think DW are the only ones who could get away with it.

I wasn't formally introduced to any new product DW might have had - personel seemed to be a little scarce whenever I came by.
I even forgot to investigate the newly reintroduced 7000 Series stands.

This was the bling piece.

For the rest of the day I kept hearing this Glen Campbell tune...

The Jazz Series in Tangerine sparkle

Kevin Packard stared a trend with the monster rack kit. Every major at the show had one.

DW doing what they do best : exotic wood finishes

There they are - the new 7000 series.

Best Old Stands

The Pacific line got a great makeover with a new tube lug design. Watch out DW.

I was either too early or too late for the demonstration but I imagine this was
the proving grounds for the new X ply shells.

If I can't be tablecloth I sure don't want to be napkin.

The red plastic tips are an interesting touch
But for me the rest just doesn't do much.

Factory Metal

Jim continues to keep this line fresh and the appeal  to drummers and percussionists hasn't waned.

Ford Drums
My apologies to Jimmy and Jay. Some of the images I took of their booth were lost when one of my CF cards went down.
It's really unfortunate because the two kits on the floor were gorgeous. Jimmy and Jay have been the driving force behind establishing a brand identity for themselves. Whenever I see these guys glowing like this you know that they know that for a few hours in four long days - it really is worth all the work.

Many reasons for a Smithie. This one is for heart.

GMS

Great finishes, great lugs, great drums made by a couple of great guys.
I was sorry that I didn't have the opportunity to revisit the booth for some
close ups of the snares - all were stunning.

Grestch

Paul Cooper did an absolutely wonderful job on the
Grestch 125 year anniversary kits and snare drums.

Biggest incentive to invest in a Grestch kit
Finest attention paid to detail

Impeccable.

You know you want to just tap them CS heads...

Best Snare Drum

Again, the recurring rack theme. Gibraltar's chrome blocks are a
refreshing change to the powder coated black versions.
